Evidence – Documents (Evidentiary Value)

In the event of a conflict between Arabic documents and foreign-language documents, Arabic documents shall prevail and are considered legally binding over the foreign ones. This principle is related to public order.

Violation of this rule may render a judicial decision subject to annulment.

Article 27 of the Civil and Commercial Procedures Law affirms the superior evidentiary value of Arabic documents in case of contradiction with foreign documents. This is a constitutional matter linked to the sovereignty of the state and may not be disregarded, as it affects public order.
