Blood Money

Blood Money (Female – Half – Male)
The blood money (diyah) owed for a female is half that of a male. This is based on Royal Decree No. 24/1975, which explicitly states that a woman’s diyah is half the amount of a man’s. Subsequent legislation has amended the amount of diyah payable for men but has not repealed the provision establishing that a woman’s diyah is half of that amount.
